Up to 15 conference participants per session slow down outdoors on the CSU SPUR campus and along the river to immerse themselves in nature through the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, or literally translated, forest bathing. Bathing suits are not required, but you may want to bring water shoes and shorts. On this guided walk participants will be offered a series of invitations to open their senses and connect with the natural world. Shinrin-yoku, established and studied during the1980s Japan tech boom, provides numerous health benefits including but not limited to boosting the immune system, lowering stress levels, and improving cognitive function. During the final invitation, the tea ceremony, participants will be invited to discuss what they notice and how they might incorporate variants of forest bathing into their professional practices and personal lives.
