About me
Emma eats, sleeps, and breathes science. She also dreams of a world where all students have access to hands-on, meaningful science experiences. She earned her B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Genetics from Iowa State University, where she contributed to research on the evolution of cotton, quinoa, peanuts, and other crops. Through these projects, Emma realized her true passion wasn’t just in data collection, but in making science accessible and exciting for students and communities. After moving to Colorado to pursue an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, she spent four years teaching high school science. Now, she’s eager to bring together her research experience, teaching expertise, and love of science to support and expand educational opportunities at CALC.
